A LAB? ...FOR LEARNING?
It’s open! The Learning Lab is in operation, thanks to the hard work of our friends at MtA Facilities Management, Computing Services, and, of course, our professors and students. The Lab is a partnership between R-PEACE and Steelcase (steelcase.com) and is working to investigate the relationship between space, flexible classrooms, active-learning pedagogies and community engaged learning. As a humanities lab, this space is important for research and innovation in contemporary pedagogical practices, but it also functions as an important point of connection between research partners and community stake holders. It's much more than just a classroom! Approximately 10 classes are involved in using this space in some capacity this term, and students and community partners will be working with R-PEACE faculty to help flesh out our broader vision of an integrated learning community in Sackville. Check back for more details on the nature of the research projects.
